About
This beautiful and award-winning rose garden is an iconic part of the Durbanville area. It serves as a global rose nursery for young roses and is one of only three trial rose gardens in the Southern Hemisphere. The garden is immensely popular for wedding photographs in the summer months.

Visitors are invited to enjoy tea served by various charity organisations on Sundays, from 14:30 to 17:30, in the garden’s tearoom, October to May. Six full-time council gardeners tend to the roses throughout the year and are assisted by volunteers from the Friends of the Rose Garden. Public picking of roses is not permitted, but pruning demonstrations are given twice a year.
