Masjidul Jumu’ah Milnerton Mosque An Unusual Beacon Of Islam
Masjidul Jumu’ah Milnerton is a pleasing work of modern Muslim architecture. But this is not the only reason why this mosque is remarkable. It is a distinctive structure in a sub-economic residential-cum-industrial area in Phoenix, Milnerton. Even more remarkable is that there are only forty Muslim families in the area, but the mosque is filled to capacity every Friday as 1500 Muslims gather for Jumu’ah prayers.

The story of the mosque started towards the close of the month of Sha’baan 1415, corresponding to January 1995. Two residents of this industrial area, Tietie and Sister Aysie, approached another resident, Boeta Faried Williams, and enquired what provision will be made for prayers in the month of Ramadaan.
