About
Rondebosch Park is a nature lover’s dream featuring a variety of flora and avenues of oaks, planes and pines. The ample space and various pathways are ideal for picnics and long leisurely walks.

This park is often used for carols by candlelight and plays. On the second Saturday of the month, an art and craft market is held between 9am and 2pm, offering a relaxed atmosphere with fresh produce, prepared foods and hand-made goods. Rondebosch Park also hosts a bi-annual Potter’s Market that takes place in March and November featuring the works of both professional and amateur potters.

In 1870, Rondebosch Common was acquired by the Rondebosch and Mowbray municipalities. It was later transferred to the City of Cape Town who subdivided the area and created Rondebosch Park.
